It blends the stimulating company of sincere yoga practitioners with the warm and nurturing energy of a spiritual community… all this just a few minutes from the River Thames!

The Certificate Courses in London

These certificate courses are open to all yoga practitioners and are especially well suited for yoga teachers and people in the health professions. The goal is to transfer these integral personal experiences and the knowledge gained into our daily and professional lives.

The courses will follow the daily schedule of the Sivananda Ashrams:
Yoga classes, Satsangs (group meditation), in-depth workshops, vegetarian meals and participation in the Ashram community life. There will be time to relax, go for walks along the river or visit London for those coming from abroad.

Students enrolled for the course are required to participate in all activities and follow the yogic lifestyle taught at the Centre. Yoga is based on self discipline (Sadhana). It is this discipline that allows one to experience the full benefits of the course while helping to maintain the spiritual energy of the Centre.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of participation stipulating the number of practice/study hours in the course.

Yoga Psychology
The way to radiant mental health

The science of Raja Yoga explains the subtle functioning of the mind: its different levels, how habits are formed, how pain is generated and how one can free oneself from mental suffering. It teaches how to focus the mind and realize our true nature, which is beyond mental conditioning. It makes us aware of our true self, which is bliss and peace. It gives a wonderful message of hope and encouragement and inspires us to rise beyond the habitual states of depression, excitement and fear and find the centre within where we are not shaken by the changes that challenge us in our lives.

Course textbook: Meditation and Mantras (the Raja Yoga Sutras are contained in this book) from Swami Vishnudevananda and/or Raja Yoga Sutras with commentaries of Swami Durgananda.

Mantras, Sound of Power
With Swami Kailasananda, Yoga Acharya

A mantra is a mystical energy encased in a sound structure.  Every mantra contains within its vibration a specific power. Upon concentration and repetition of a given mantra, its power and energy take form. The benefits of the mental repetition of a mantra and the chanting of mantras are immeasurable. Mantras open the heart, fill the mind with purity and generate harmony and divine love.

Teacher
Swami Kailasananda is Yoga Acharya of the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres in England and France. She is a long disciple of Swami Vishnudevananda and teaches Sivananda Yoga Teacher' Training (TTC), Advance Teachers' Training (ATTC) and Sadhana Intensive courses with much clarity, generosity and deep insight.
