Bhaja Govindam

The Bhaja Govindam is one of the great hymns composed by Sri Shankaracharya in praise of Lord Govinda (Krishna). Bhaja Govindaṁ was composed in Sanskrit in the 8th century and was originally known as Moha Mudgāra, the remover of delusions. The hymn is set to musical notes condensing the essence of Vedanta in the form of simple melodious verses expressing the union between the path of knowledge and the path of devotion.

Bhaja Govindam expresses the Highest Truth through poetic verses filled with the deepest and most sublime meaning. It directly addresses the question ‘What is the purpose of Life’ and provides a lucid inquiry into the nature of reality.

Each session of this 4-session course includes Bhaja Govindam chanting.

Bhagavad Gita Autumn Study

With Chandra

“The teachings of the Gita are broad, universal and sublime. They are meant for the people of the world at large. It has a message for the solace, peace, freedom, salvation and perfection of all human beings. The more you study with devotion and faith, the more you will get deeper knowledge, penetrative insight and clear thinking. Even if you live in the spirit of one verse of the Gita, you will attain the goal of life – immortality and eternal peace”.  Swami Sivananda

The Bhagavad Gita is one of the most important philosophical texts of yoga and was central to Ghandi’s life and thought. The Bhagavad Gita shows how we can make every moment of our daily life a living expression of yoga. This sacred text teaches us how to live in the world, do our duties and find balance and joy through detachment. Each session of this 4-session course includes Gita chanting.
