Intro to Ayurveda
5-week course

Come learn about Ayurveda, India’s ancient Science of Life and Longevity with LA Yoga's Felicia Tomasko.   Ayurveda is the medical system which supports the mind-body-spirit training system of Yoga – both Ayurveda and Yoga originated from the Vedas, the ancient sacred texts of India.  Ayurveda teaches that the ultimate cause of all dis-ease is our separation from our true nature as Spirit.

 

In this five week course we will explore the basics of Ayurveda, enabling you to begin to understand your own unique constitution, and how to keep it in balance through diet and daily habits, as well as herbs, yoga, meditation, and other sense therapies.  We will cover the 5 elements, the 3 Doshas, the 3 Gunas, the 6 tastes, and the 7 Dhatus.

 

In this active and participatory class, we will assess our constitutions,  come up with daily routines and diet that support them, and practice some asanas, breathing, self-massage and cooking that will get us started on our healthy Ayurvedic lifestyle.
