The Sivananda Beginners Course prepares you fully for the basic Sivananda Open yoga class and a comprehensive home practice. You will be guided step-by-step in a small group allowing for one-to-one correction. You will learn the sun salutation, the twelve basic postures of the classical yoga tradition, breathing exercises and deep relaxation and be introduced to the Five Points of Yoga, for healthy body and mind. This dynamic course is open to those new to yoga, new to the Sivananda class, or those who would like to go back to basics. The course of six classes, meets twice a week for a period of three weeks. Preliminary registration is necessary. Please note that a Beginners Course will start on the Tuesday following each Open House. Please wear loose comfortable clothing and do not eat two hours before the class. We strongly recommend that you bring your own mat but we do supply cushions and mats.
