In the basic Ashram schedule, free time is combined with mandatory participation in two daily Yoga (Asanas & silent meditation + Mantra chanting + lecture/talk). For complete benefits, we recommend following this powerful and harmonious program based on the 5 points of Yoga by Swami Vishnu-devananda for at least two weeks.
The different Sivananda Ashrams are open all year round and always offer the Yoga vacation schedule. In addition to the regular program some special theme-retreats are organized. Guests are also encouraged to participate in the Karma Yoga (selfless service) experience. Traditionally Yoga acknowledges that volunteering time and offering donations helps one feel closer to the spiritual mission.
