Sivananda Kutir situated on the banks of the holy river Ganga, nestled among the Himalayan Mountains makes the perfect setting for yoga practices. Swami Vishnudevananda took charge of the ashram in 1991. Since then the ashram has expanded significantly within the confines of a small area. Previously the ashram was under the direction of Swami Akhandananda. It is located in the village of Netala, 8 km north of Uttar Kashi on the Gangotri Road.
Sivananda Kutir welcomes guests from April to November each year. Prior booking is essential as all programs and courses are limited to a maximum of 30 students. The ashram is not open to Yoga Vacation guests during international courses.
