The Sadhana Intensive Course
A two-week training course, unique in the West and devised by Swami Vishnudevananda
to encompass the discipline and experiences of his own intensive hatha yoga sadhana
in the Himalayas. The student works towards eight hours of hatha yoga practice per day,
which is balanced by the study of scriptures from both the vedantic and bhakti tradition.
PREREQUISITE FOR COURSE PARTICIPATION
Successful completion of the Sivananda Teachers' Training Course.
CURRICULUM
Hatha Yoga
Intensive practice of asanas and in particular pranayama, bandhas and mudras following the
traditional rules. The participants practise individually and under personal guidance
of a Yoga Acharya.

Hatha Yoga Pradipika , classical hatha yoga scripture
Viveka Chudamani , classical Vedanta scripture by Sankaracharya
Srimad Bhagavatam , classical bhakti yoga scripture
Meditation Practice
Silent Meditation
Likhita Japa (mantra writing)
Yogic Diet
Instruction in the nutritional precepts for practising aspirants
