Yogic Parenting Workshop Series
Parents, especially in today’s complex world, need tools and a supportive community as they navigate this profound, and sometimes confusing, journey with their children. In this workshop series, we will explore the five points of yoga as a basis to reflect on personal parenting experiences and consider ways to cultivate parent well being and inspire peace and joy in our parenting journeys. Series of 5 workshops.
Dates: Saturdays, September 12, September 26, October 10, October 24, November 7
Time: 2:00 – 3:30 pm
Cost: $30 per couple or $100 for whole series

All Five Workshops – $100 per couple
Individual workshops – $30 each per couple
Yoga Tips and Techniques for Parents
In this 3 hour workshop, parents will learn some basic techniques for teaching proper exercise, breathing and relaxation to their children. This is a fast paced workshop in which you will learn practical tools you can apply at your home.
Note: It’s recommended that you have taken a Yoga 1 Beginners’ Course at any Sivananda Yoga Centre in order to take this workshop.

About the Teacher: Saraswati is a long time staff of the Sivananda organization and currently the co-director of the SYVC in Toronto. As a disciple of Swami Vishnudevananda, she lived and studied under his personal guidance and has over twenty years’ experience teaching yoga and meditation to yogis of all ages.
Saraswati has been serving as a director of the Kids’ Yoga Camps in Canada and Thailand for many years. She has also developed Teen karma yoga programme as well as many community-based programs such as Family Yoga Weeks, Kids’ Yoga School, and Yogic Parenting. Saraswati is also a certified Child and Youth Counsellor and has worked enthusiastically with individuals and groups on social issues such as anger management, conflict resolution, mental health, and substance abuse.
