NEW TO YOGA? FIRST STEPS
Have you always wanted to do yoga but don’t know how and where to start? It’s usually best to begin with simple yoga postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama) and relaxation guided by a yoga teacher who can demonstrate the exercises for you and offer corrections as well as some variations and/or modifications to suit your needs.
Come for one of our Free Trial Yoga Classes, held every Sunday. You will receive an introduction to basics of yoga, learn more about the Centre and meet our teachers.
We also suggest taking one of our Beginners’ Yoga Courses. It’s one of the best ways to get a strong foundation and proper guidance in yoga and help you establish a daily yoga practice in your life.

OUR TEACHERS AND TEACHINGS
We are part of the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres, a non-profit organization named after Swami Sivananda, one of the most influential spiritual teachers of the 20th century and founded in 1959 by his disciple Swami Vishnudevananda.
The mission of the organization is to spread peace, health and joy through yoga. All are welcome to visit the Centre to learn not only about how yoga can help maintain a healthy body but also how yogic philosophy, applied in daily life, can help maintain a peaceful mind and spirit.
Swami Vishnudevananda closely observed the lifestyles and needs of people in the west. He synthesised the ancient wisdom of yoga into five basic principles that could easily be incorporated into one’s own lifestyle to provide the foundation for healthy living.
