How to design healing spaces with Vastu Shastra
A 3 day course with a certified Vastu teacher

The course:
Vastu Shastra is a 10.000 year old Indian practice of designing and constructing buildings to influence peace and prosperity in the form of design. This three day course covers the basic concept of the ancient Vedic teachings – Vastu Shastra. It gives the essence of the workings of the Divine Space and the Absolute Time manifesting into Matter. A printed manual is included.

Outcome of the course:

  • This workshop will help students better understand the direct link between the energies of the cosmos, earth, the home and the human form
  • Participant will learn how to apply the principles of Vastu Shastra when designing a new home
  • After completing this course student will be able to properly evaluate their homes through the lens of Vastu Shastra and make enhancements as necessary
  • A certificate of attendance will be issued at the end of the course

Teacher: Olga Mandodari Sokolova, certified Vastu Shastra consultant, studied at the International Institute of Mayonic Science & Technology in Chennai, India under Dr. V. Sthapati Ganapati, a well-known traditional architect of Southern India who relies on Vastu principles in his projects. Ms. Sokolova earned her MS degree in Civil Engineering from the Architectural University of St. Petersburg, Russia.

Healthy Cooking with Ayurveda

Ayurveda is an ancient medical science dating back more than 5000 years. According to Ayurveda our health and wellness are mainly influenced by the foods we eat and the lifestyle we live. It is a holistic system that uses an understanding of different body types (constitutions) to guide one towards a healthier and more balanced lifestyle. Ayurveda is grounded in a holistic approach to physical and mental health.

Ayurvedic Diet – Healthy Body, Balanced Mind
Ayurveda offers a delicious and healthy alternative to conventional food choices as it considers food to be both nourishment as well as medicine. This course will provide an introduction to the major principles of Ayurveda. Participants will be given the practical tools to prepare delicious ayurvedic meals at home according to his or her constitution. The daily programme will include two lectures and one hands-on cooking workshop using mostly organic and regionally sourced food items.

Grains
Learn to prepare lentils in a variety of ways. Whole grains on a regular basis regulate the blood sugar level and prevent obesity.

Beans and lentils
Pulses are often frowned upon, but they are an ideal source of protein and iron. Properly prepared they are delicious.

Vegetables
Full of minerals and secondary plant nutrients vegetables are essential for good health. Fresh vegetables add variety to our diet.

Spices
These can be combined in so many different ways to create new taste sensations and make any meal delicious. Spices play a big role in Ayurvedic cooking and are used for aiding the digestion and their healing power.

Six tastes
