Beginners' courses are the most thorough introduction for a beginner to the Sivananda practice, or for anyone looking to renew their practice. This 4-week course provides a complete introduction to yoga, including:

  • Yoga postures (asanas)
  • Breathing exercises (pranayama)
  • Relaxation exercises
  • Introduction to proper diet
  • Introduction to positive thinking and meditation

Courses are taught in small groups and meet twice a week, either on Mondays and Wednesdays, or Tuesdays and Thursdays. There are several courses that meet once a week for six weeks, or twice per week for three weeks. See (*). The 90 minute classes are mostly practical, with some introduction to yoga philosophy.

The cost of the course is $85 for non-members and $65 for members of the Center (details of center membership). Six and three week courses cost $70 for non-members and $50 for members.
