Meditation 1

This course provides instruction in the basic techniques and theory for beginning your meditation practice. Learn how to develop concentration and to experience inner peace. Meditation is considered the most important of all the yoga techniques and is an invaluable tool for emotional balance and peace of mind.

Meditation will bring light in your heart. Therefore meditate, meditate. Meditation raises you to the hightest realm of divine knowledge, and eternal joy and sunshine. Therefore meditate, meditate. – Swami Sivananda

Topics covered in the course include:

  • Purpose of meditation
  • Nature of the mind
  • Meditation using a mantra (sound energy, vibration)
  • Obstacles to meditation
  • How to establish a practice

4 sessions of 90 minutes (once a week)

Wednesdays:
October 4 – 25 (6.15 – 7.45pm)

Thursdays: (english)
October 26 – November 16 ( 6.30– 8pm)

$75 non-members / $68 members and students

Go deeper into your meditation practice by understanding your mind, the root of your thoughts and emotions. There are no objective tests to measure your progress, however there are universal indicators that all those who meditate regularly will experience sooner or later. Learn how to uplift your thoughts and achieve calmness of the mind.

Topics covered include:

  • Meditation techniques according to the 4 paths of Yoga
  • Choosing personal mantra for an individualized practice
  • How to continue the practice

November 23 – December 14 ( 6.30 – 8pm)

Practical hints : Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to class. It is recommended not to eat one hour before class. We provide meditation cushions for the class. Wear comfortable clothing.
