The course is based on the principle of the synthesis of yoga as taught by Swami Sivananda. As such the practice of Hindu devotional rituals are also part of the daily programme. Successful graduates will receive a certificate from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre recognised by theYoga Alliance in the USA and Canada.

To maintain the purity and spiritual atmosphere of the Ashram, attendance at all satsangs and classes is mandatory. No meat, fish, fowl, eggs, garlic, onions, narcotics, alcohol or cigarettes.
How to Register
Please complete an official registration form and return it (fax or email) with a deposit of the equivalent of 300 euros non-refundable (for further payment details please contact the Rome Centre) and a passport size photo. We will send you a receipt and confirmation of your reservation. Please remember to sign the form agreeing to the rules and regulations of the Course. The deposit (non-refundable) will secure a place (subject to availability). Full payment is required one month before the course starts. The rooms comprise up to four beds in one room with attached or shared bathroom.
There is a beautiful outdoor swimming pool and plenty of areas both inside and outside for quiet study. Please note that all course fees are in Euros. The fees include all tuition, accommodation, uniform (two pairs of trousers and two t-shirts), manual and meals. They do not include transport to and from the ashram.
Refunds
All fees are non-refundable. A student can transfer from one course before the start of that course, to attend another, once only. After this time fees are forfeited. What to bring Required Course Books : The Complete Illustrated Book of Yoga by Swami Vishnudevananda, and the Bhagavad Gita with commentary by Swami Sivananda It can be warm/hot during the day and cooler at night. You will be given two pairs of white yoga trousers and two yellow t-shirts to wear to be worn at most of the classes. In addition you will need light cotton clothing for yoga classes, comfortable easy clothing for outside excursions, indoor slipper-type shoes, walking shoes, nightwear, toiletries and personal items, towel, swimming costume, yoga mat, cushion, shawl for meditation, a waterproof jacket and sweater, pens, notebooks for notetaking, alarm clock, and flashlight. Camping - in addition to the above please bring bedding and tent. No camping equipment whatsoever is provided. Admission requirements The course is an intensive four-week training and requires a high degree of commitment and an open mind to new teachings and experiences. Whilst prior experience in the practice of yoga and meditation is not a requirement, a sincere desire for knowledge and commitment to personal growth is needed. We recommend that before enrolling for the course, you familiarise yourself with our teachings by attending classes and courses at one of our Ashrams or Centres.
SantaMaria Agriturismo is a beautiful famhouse converted into a hotel set amongst rolling acres of organically farmed land. Olive groves and vines as well as oak and juniper forests adorn the Umbria/Tuscany landscape. The Faena Stream runs through the property and the hills are dotted with picturesque villages dating from medieval times.
The location is 160 kilometres (2-hour direct train) from Rome, 160 kilometres from Florence, 30 kilometres from Perugia, 39 kilometres from Orvieto, and 50 kilometres from Assisi.
Your Arrival The inauguration ceremony for the Course will take place on Sunday September 6, 2009. To allow time to settle in, please arrive on Saturday September 5, 2009, during the day if possible. If you are camping please do not arrive late as you will find it difficult to set up your tent. The course will end at on Sunday October 5, 2009.
