Courses for different levels - Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced - on fixed days at fixed times; you can either choose morning or evening. Each course consists of 6 sessions once a week. We strongly recommend this option as the regular practice times will help you to develop discipline in your yoga practice. You may repeat any level as many times as you like. Level 1
Beginner

This is the place to start and is perfect for complete beginners. You will learn some of the basic postures for building strength and flexibility, breathing exercises for increasing your energy and focus and relaxation techniques for body, mind and spirit.

You will receive the Sivananda Pocket Training Manual for free when you enrol for any Level 1 course.

Level 2
Beginner/Intermediate

We recommend this as the natural follow-up to Level 1.
You can now build upon your basic knowledge of the practice by learning new postures and simple variations, new breathing exercises and deepening your relaxation practice. This course is also ideal for those getting back into the practice after a lapse or simply wanting to revisit the basics.

You will receive a 50% discount on the Yoga@Home CD when you enrol for any Level 2 course.

Weekend Intensives

These popular weekends provide a complete experience of the yogic lifestyle while providing a sound basis for your home practice. Delicious vegetarian meals, nature walks and workshops on yoga and meditation make this a “mini” retreat in the heart of London. You can even choose the option of spending the Saturday night at the Centre.

4 Day Intensives

These courses take place over four consecutive days. The perfect timing of the courses during school breaks make them ideal for students (from age 16 upwards). The courses however, are open to all not just students. The Level 1 and 2 are each two hours long allowing for a deeper, concentrated dose in a shorter time. You can also learn the basics of Meditation by combining the course with the either Level 1 or 2.

Level 1the basic postures, breathing and relaxation techniques

Level 2 – a chance to improve the basic postures whilst working on asana variations and the headstand.

Meditation – practical and theoretical techniques for focusing and stilling the mind.

Positive Thinking practical techniques for facing both inner and outer obstacles through an understanding of the transformative power of thought. You can choose to take yoga alone or combine it with the meditation and positive thinking.

Level 1 - 3 Drop-in Classes

For those who have irregular work times or just find it difficult to commit to fixed days and times, the best option is to join the “drop-in” sessions. Here you have the option to choose when to practise – mornings or evenings, Mondays to Thursdays. There are three basic levels: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3. Each level naturally progresses on to the next so that you can confidently move in to intermediate and advanced classes.

Level 1 - Basic breathing techniques, Sun Salutation, basic postures, relaxation techniques
Level 2 - Pranayama (breathing exercises), Sun Salutation, Basic postures with beginner variations,

                introduction to headstand, relaxation techniques
Level 3 - Pranayama, Sun Salutation, basic postures with variations, headstand preparation and practice,

                relaxation techniques

We recommend that you start with Level 1 for 6 sessions before moving on to Level 2. You can continue longer if you feel you need more time at each level. The teacher can also guide you when it is best to move on to the next level.
Once you feel you’re competent at Level 2 , you can join the intermediate classes or move on to Level 3.
