| Jaggery Sesame Snaps |
|
1 cup of sesame seeds
2/3 cup of Jaggery*
1 or 2 tablespoons of Ghee or oil
Two pans
In one pan, dry roast the
sesame seeds - avoid burning
them by stirring regularly.
In the other pan, gently melt the
jaggery and ghee.
Mix the two together quickly and
pout onto a flat tray or plate.
Press and smooth the mixture.
Allow the prepared mixture to set
for about one hour.
Cut or break to serve.
Can be stored in a jar.
* Jaggery is traditional unrefined
whole cane sugar and is an
excellent alternative to using
refined sugar. It can be easily
purchased in Indian shops.
