ESSENTIALS OF YOGA PRACTICE AND PHILOSOPHY
In this series of 5 classes, we will explore the core teachings of the classical yoga approach as taught by Swami Sivananda (1887-1963) and his disciple, Swami Vishnudevananda (1927-1993).
  • What is classical yoga? The four paths
  • Importance of satsang, meditation and chanting
  • Sivananda approach to yoga asanas
  • Building a daily yoga practice (sadhana)
  • Science of the mind, yoga psychology
  • Who am I? The search for happiness

The course will benefit anyone who is serious about their personal yoga practice and who wishes to deepen their understanding of yoga as a spiritual science.

The course will be taught by Vidya Chaitanya, a yogini for 20 years and qualified doctor and psychiatrist.
Course book: 'Essentials of Yoga practice and Philosophy' by Swami Sitaramananda, a senior disciple of Swami Vishnudevananda.
