Alexander Technique
 5-Week Course

with Celio da Silveira

Improve your Yoga practice. Coordination, focus and balance: simple ways to reorganize your movement patterns. The Alexander Technique is a proven, practical method of improving health through conscious, positive choices. Our habitual patterns cause unnecessary effort and tension in everything we do.

Course Objective - Apply the principles of the Alexander Technique to give a sense of the basic coordination of mind and body, as applied to our movement. The goal is to avoid injury and bring ease, efficiency and comfort to the practice of yoga and any other movement.

Course Format: Presentation of theory, hands-on work with each student, active relaxation, questions.

"Change involves carrying out an activity against the habit of life."
F. M. ALEXANDER (1869-1955)

Celio da Silveira: Certified Teacher, American Society for the Alexander Technique; Graduate of ATI-LA (Alexander Training Institute of Los Angeles).

Celio discovered the Alexander Technique in Brazil in 1987. Eighteen years of practice in the art of Judo was apt preparation, focused on the refinement of movement patterns and maintaining attention to 'inner space'. The Technique enriched his study of classical and modern dance, as well as yoga, and gave power to his singing voice and guitar fingering. He sees this acute study of human development and intuition as a life-long journey peeling back layers of perception which grows in subtlety with each new student. Celio has a private practice in West Los Angeles. www.alexandertechniquelosangeles.com
