How to Teach Yoga for Pregnancy with Sarada August 30 - September 1

This course will teach you how to adapt a yoga practice to each stage of pregnancy, to ensure a safe and enriching practice for mother and baby. You will learn about benefits of yoga in pregnancy and how to modify asanas for the changing body. We will introduce special poses, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques that will help to prepare women for a smooth delivery. We will explore how meditation and relaxation practices can help parents to welcome their new children. Throughout the course, we will emphasize how to build a safe and supportive environment in the classroom and support students emotionally through their pregnancy journey.  The goal of the Yoga for Pregnancy Course is to give yoga teachers guidelines for teaching yoga to  pregnant women. We will cover Swami Vishnu-devananda’s 5 basic points of yoga as applied to teaching yoga to pregnant women.

In this three days intensive course we will:
  • teach you how to adapt a yoga practice to ensure a safe and enriching practice for mother and baby

The course is conducted amid the peaceful ashram environment in order to give you opportunity to learn while enjoying the benefits of a regular ashram schedule. The schedule is designed so that you can participate in ashram yoga classes and activities while having the time to relax and enjoy the beautiful Laurentian mountains.

This course is open for yoga teachers. Certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of the course.
