How to Start: Yoga 1 and Yoga 2
Yoga 1 - Complete Beginners
If you are new to Yoga we suggest that you start with the Yoga 1 beginners' course, emphasising proper exercise, proper breathing, relaxation and concentration. Sivananda Training Manual included.
The course introduces 'The 5 Points of Yoga', the 12 'basic' asanas, pranayama, proper relaxation and surya namaskar.
Schedule: Courses run over 3 weeks, 4 days each week - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at the times given below
Weekend courses, classes Saturday and Sunday for 6 weekends.
A further 1 week Open Class pass is given to students completing the course.

Yoga 1 Review
For those who want to refresh and refine their practise, a review of the 12 basic postures and the breathing exercises.
Duration: 12 classes

4-Day Yoga 1 Intensive
An introduction to Yoga for those who are unable to commit to a 3-week course. This special intensive course is designed to help you learn the basic Yoga postures, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques.
Schedule: Tuesday - Friday - 4 classes - 120 minutes each
Suggested donation: Members Rs 1200 / Non-members Rs 1500

Booking courses
Please note: a minimum of 3 students is required per course. Please book in advance for courses. Transfer between courses incurs Rs 50 fee. Cheques should be payable to SIVANANDA YOGA VEDANTA NATARAJA SOCIETY (registered under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961). Payments are not cash refundable.
Courses begin on a regular basis. You have to register for courses and workshops in advance, with full payment. If you would like to try a class before registering for a course, please come to one of our free trial classes: every Sunday from 12:30 noon
