Positive Thinking Course Part 1
A practical introduction to Yoga philosophy, this course offers numerous tools for empowerment and for improving the quality of everyday life. Topics include the following:
- The nature of thought
- The nature of the Self according to Vedanta
- How to deal with unwanted thoughts
- Breaking negative thought patterns
- Transforming negative emotions
- Managing the stresses of daily life
- How to turn obstacles to one's advantage
Positive Thinking Course Part 2: Self-Knowledge
This course is an opportunity for students who have completed Positive Thinking Part 1 to deepen their understanding of Yoga philosophy. Using as its basis the text Tattva Bodha by Adi Sankaracharya, this course explores in detail the nature of the Self according to Vedanta. With this greater awareness, students may find it easier to free themselves from limiting thought patterns, emotions, and reactions to stressors in daily life. Topics include the following:
- The four-fold qualities of a student of Vedanta
- Discrimination between the Real and the Unreal
- The three bodies and the five sheaths
- The three states of experience
- The three kinds of Karma
These five-week courses meet once per week for 90
minutes. The cost is $60 for members, $75 for nonmembers. Some courses meet 2x per week for 2 weeks, cost for members $50, nonmembers $60. Space limited to 8 participants, please reserve early. |
