Ashram Rules and Guidelines

As a guest member of the Sivananda Yoga Camp, I acknowledge having read the rules and regulations, I agree to abide by them and be present at all the activities, and by failing to do so I understand that I may be requested to leave the Ashram. I voluntarily participate in the Yoga instruction at the Sivananda Yoga Camp. By signing my name on this form, I release the Sivananda Yoga Centre and its agents from liability, for any injury to my person or damage to my property, incurred while on the premises or during activities organized by members of staff. I have no physical disabilities and I am in good health.

The spirit behind the discipline and rules are purely to enable you to obtain maximum benefit from your experience at the Ashram and spiritual practice and to maintain the spiritual purpose of the Ashram.

Everyone have to respect the daily schedule.

Punctuality – Classes and Satsangs:

Guests are required to be on time and to remain for the duration of each program. Please note that for morning and evening Satsang, the door will be locked at the start of meditation and reopened once chanting starts.

Karma Yoga (selfless service):

cheapest place to buy real viagra is an integral part of the daily schedule and provides an opportunity for guests to participate in the upkeep of the ashram. Guests are encouraged to offer up to one hour of selfless service per day.

Silence (Mouna):

Please observe silence between 10:00 pm and 7:30 am daily. Lights out after 10:00 pm.

Dress Code:

Guests’ behaviour and dress code should be respectful and enhance the spiritual atmosphere of the Ashram.   No nudity in the sauna. When entering all indoor areas please remove shoes and place them neatly on the shoe racks provided.  Make sure to cover your shoulders and knees in all of the temples areas.

Personal Belongings:

The Ashram cannot accept responsibility for the guest’s personal belongings. A safety deposit facility is available.

Intoxicants & Prohibited Items:

Smoking, alcohol, drugs, meat, fish, eggs, garlic or onions are not allowed. Pets are not allowed. Mobile/cell phones are not allowed. Photography, video, audio recording during classes and ceremonies is only permitted with the permission of the Ashram director. No incense, candles or burning materials allowed anywhere in the Ashram and grounds.

Check In/Out:

All guests and visitors are required to register at reception upon arrival. Check-in time is after 15:00 pm and check-out before 11:00 am.

Payments and Donations:

Daily donation rates include accommodation, classes and two meals per day. Dates and donations are subject to change without notice. For all programs guests are subject to the suggested donation in effect at the time of final payment.  Personal cheques and bank transfers are not accepted.

Medical/Yoga Practice:

Please respect your body’s limitations and if you are unsure about your ability to practise, please consult a medical doctor beforehand.


Guests are reminded that Ashram staffs are mostly volunteers with varying experience who offer service as part of their spiritual discipline. Your understanding and patience is appreciated. The Sivananda Ashram Yoga Camp is not responsible for any personal loss, injury and/or damages sustained as a result of your stay at the Ashram.

Refund policy:

Refund, Cancellation or changes to your reservation: 50$ of administration fees. Cancellation or changes less than 72 hours prior to arrival date: 50$ of administration fees plus one night of accommodation fees. No Show: No refunds.

Physical Harassment:

The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers of Canada disapprove of and condemn any form of harassment directed at guests, staff or visitors. Specifically, no harassment, proposals or innuendos with a sexual connotation will be tolerated during any program or activity organized by the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers of Canada.  Guests participating in such programs are accordingly made aware of this policy and invited to apply it in their personal behaviour whilst on our premises. Any guest who thinks she (he) may be the victim of unsolicited advances or any other form of sexual harassment is asked to notify a senior Swami or Director immediately in order for corrective action to be undertaken without delay. Complaints made to a senior Swami or director will be treated confidentially and the alleged violator or any third party will not be advised of the complainant’s identity without the latter’s consent.
