Established in 1972 by Swami Vishnudevananda, the Kids’ Camp combines activities of outdoor adventure, creativity, discovery and cooperation. Almost 2000 children have attended this truly unique camp uniting the summer camp experience with the practice of yoga. These programs are aimed specifically for children ages 8 to 15 (Canada) and ages 9 to 12 (Thailand).
Swami Vishnudevananda founded Sivananda Yoga Kids Camp in order to help children lean basics of yoga as a means of achieving physical, mental and spiritual well being. He believed that if children are taught to discipline their mind and body from an early age, they will be able to become more peaceful, developing love, tolerance, patience and understanding toward the whole creation. Using the powerful tools of Yoga, he taught children to live a simple, happy and healthy life.
