Pujas & Spiritual Festivals

Keeping with the ancient Yoga tradition, pujas, spiritual festivals and Vedic ceremonies are conducted based on the moon calendar, honoring sages, saints and the founders of the lineage. These rituals are part of the traditional yoga practice and are the gateway to inner peace and new horizons. People of different levels practise together, from newcomers to experienced Yoga teachers.

Sunday | July 14 | 6pm
Mahasamadhi of Swami Sivananda
Celebration of the day when Swami Sivananda Maharaj left his body and attained Samadhi (final liberation). The program includes a Puja, chanting and stories.

Monday | July 22 | 8pm
Guru Purnima
Aspirants offer their homage to their teacher and the great sage Vyasa. It is an occasion for joy, celebration and spiritual study. The program includes a Puja and chanting.

Saturday | July 27 | 6pm (as part of the Summer Yoga Festival)
Ganapathi Homa
A traditional Vedic fire ceremony to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles.


Wednesday | August 28 | 6pm
Lord Krishna's Birthday Celebration
A joyful celebration of Lord Krishna, the embodiment of Cosmic Love. The program includes a Puja, chanting, stories and delicious Prasads.

Swami Sivananda's Birthday Celebration
A celebration with chanting and stories from the life of one of the great sages of all time and the inspiration behind the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres.

Lord Ganesha's Birthday
A celebration of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the bestower of all success. The program includes a Puja, chanting, stories and delicious Prasads.
