Class description



  • Drop In - Open Class - 90 minutes - all levels

    This is a standard class open to all on a drop-in basis. The class includes Pranayama (breathing exercises), a regular series of Asanas including sun salutations and relaxation. Students are advised to take a Beginners' course before attending an Open Class. This class is not suitable for complete beginners. If you are new to the Centre or the Sivananda system and have not completed Yoga-1, please contact the reception for instructor approval. (90 minutes each class).

  • Advanced Open Class - 120 minutes - intermediate/advanced levels

    For students who have completed Yoga-2 or TTC and would like to deepen their Yoga practice. This class will cover the Sivananda sequence with advanced variations.

  • Advanced Asana Workshop - 120 minutes - intermediate/advanced levels

    Intended as a means to expand and explore the deeper essence Hatha Yoga system. These excellent workshops can be taken to improve your Asana practice.

    For students who have completed Yoga-1 or TTC.

  • Gentle Yoga Class - 90 minutes - all levels

    For senior citizens and for those with limited mobility. This gentle class helps to improve overall mobility, health and well-being overcoming the problems in later life compounded by insufficient exercise and shallow breathing. Previous experience of Yoga is recommended.

  • Pregnancy Yoga Class - 90 minutes

    Learn the most useful yoga asanas and proper breathing for pregnancy. The class gently leads you to a comfortable and easy delivery, physically, emotionally through mind, and spirit. Enjoy a gentle series of postures with adapted postures, breathing, and visualizations. Open to all levels and suitable for beginners. It is advisable to begin classes after the first trimester. Students will not be allowed to take part in Open Classes during pregnancy.

  • Kids Yoga Class - 90 minutes

    Yoga adapted for children. The practice includes simple postures, breathing, relaxation, meditation, chanting, storytelling and games to improve concentration, balance and co-ordination. Kids enjoy a playful atmosphere and make new friends. Open to children ages 6 to 12.

  • Group Meditation (Satsang) - all levels

    Consists of 20–30 minutes of meditation, 45 minutes of mantra chanting and a talk on the philosophy of Yoga and Vedanta. Open to all.

  • Yoga Asana Courses - Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced

    Special courses are offered for different levels, Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced, on fixed days at fixed times. Each course consists of 2 - 4 sessions in a week. We strongly recommend this option as the regular practice times will help you to develop discipline in your Yoga practice.

    Please note that these are courses and not drop-in classes. Participation is by booking only.

  • Meditation Courses - all levels

    Our Meditation provide not only guidelines and techniques to establish a meditation practice and for facing both inner and outer obstacles through an understanding of the transformative power of thought but also an introduction to all the aspects and philosophy of Yoga such as vegetarian diet, concentration and more. Please note that these are scheduled courses and not drop-in classes. Participation is by booking only.

  • Self Development Courses- all levels

    Self Development Through Meditation and Positive Thinking courses provide not only guidelines and techniques to establish a meditation practice and for facing both inner and outer obstacles through an understanding of the transformative power of thought but also an introduction to all the aspects and philosophy of Yoga such as vegetarian diet, concentration and more.
