October 8-14, 2012 This course is designed to train yoga teachers and practitioners to be peace leaders in local, national, and international communities. Participants will learn how to lead and take part in significant humanitarian efforts. They will study the eight United Nations millennium goals and will be guided to develop skills for building programs to support these goals: eradicating poverty and hunger, providing education for all, empowering women and gender equality, providing health care for all, decreasing childhood mortality, promoting maternal health, controlling the spread of HIV and other diseases, and protecting the environment.
